What is a bursar hold and how do I get rid of it?

A Bursar Hold is placed on a student’s account when there is still a balance left to pay to the school. If a student owes the school money whether it is tuition or even parking tickets, the hold will be placed. When a Bursar Hold is placed, the student is unable to receive student services such as the release of official transcripts, register for classes, access grades, and even receive a diploma. Keep in mind that if a Bursar Hold is placed, there is a high chance that the student will be charged a late payment fee.

The Bursar’s Office handles all accounts payable and receivable when it comes to tuition, fees, and financial aid. Be sure to contact the Bursar’s Office directly.
