Funding U launched its no co-signer loan to cover ‘last gap’ college costs in Georgia in 2016, expanded nationally in 2018, and the company now offers loans to residents of 30 States. Funding U is based in Atlanta, GA with team members working in multiple states. 

Job Overview 

The Director of Marketing (DM) will be responsible for the execution of all marketing and advertising initiatives (digital and print). The DM will implement a unified marketing strategy with a heavy focus on digital initiatives and acquiring new customers and partnerships. 

The ideal candidate will be a strong executor who is also an innovative, strategic thinker who wants to grow and develop in his/her role and is excited to make key contributions to the marketing strategy of a growth-oriented company. The DM will be driven to find new and better ways to reach target clients and will identify industry trends and opportunities to expand the company’s market expertise and area of influence. The DM will ensure that the company message is distributed to target audiences across the appropriate channels including mobile platforms, video, and social media. 

The DM must be both analytical and creative, ideally possessing extensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines. This person will work with Senior Management to plan, direct, and coordinate marketing strategy and budgets in accordance with organizational goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities​ 

Includes, but is not limited to, the following: 

With Senior Management, establishes strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services. 

Executes the Company’s comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short- and long-term, to support sales and revenue objectives of organization. 

Manages marketing operating budget. 

Plans and executes advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail. 

Manage and optimize paid marketing campaigns (paid search, display, social media) and work with external vendors to maximize ROI. 

Evaluates and establishes potential referral channel opportunities and manages relationships with existing partners. 

Provides insight and input into product positioning, design, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share. 

Monitors effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets. 

Monitors competitive products and marketing activities. 

Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and provides feedback for future product development. 

Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management. 

Helps maintain a consistent brand throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events. 

Responsible for all aspects of Funding University blog to include managing freelancers, editing, writing articles and managing wordpress.

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Computer Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Wordpress, Google Adwords, Facebook Ad Manager, and Design software as well as Internet software; Google Business; Streak CRM; Zendesk Customer Support and be able to pick up quickly other applications.
