Your Funding U loan will be disbursed directly to your school for use toward costs included in your college's cost of attendance.
The cost of attendance (COA) is not necessarily the bill that you may get from your college, rather it is the estimated total for all of the costs of the given school year. The COA includes:

- Tuition and fees
- On-campus room and board OR a housing and food allowance for off-campus students
- Books & Supplies
- Transportation costs
- Other expenses - like an allowance for the rental or purchase of a personal computer
Your school’s financial aid office can address any concerns about any specific indirect costs you intend to cover with your private loan.
